This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Ethan Bear! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Gracy Jr! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Franklyn Lucas and Alyssa Summers.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Jr shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jr showed some decent athleticism there. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Bear (0) vs (2) Jr Bear won't allow Jr to pass to mount. Jr is keen to just control but Bear is a slippery customer. Bear is trying to control but can't.
Jr is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Bear still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Bear has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Score +4 for clean sweep to past guard: Bear (4) vs (2) Jr Bear working away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jr is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Bear is one step ahead and moves to full mount! That's one minute gone in the round. Jr keeps trying to improve his position. We've been hearing good reports from Bear's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Bear fails to move to back control. Jr controls the position.

Jr tries to hold on but Bear pushes him away. Jr is in all sorts of trouble here.

Jr should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Jr tries to hold on but Bear pushes him away. Jr stops Bear from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Jr keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Jr trying to control the hands but Bear breaks the grip. Jr holding on to Bear's left wrist, preventing the choke. Jr tries to roll but Bear sticks to his back.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Bear controls the action. Jr is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Bear off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Jr tries to escape the position.

Bear will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bear not allowing Jr to control his hands. Bear is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

What can Jr do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Jr trying to control the action but Bear just sinks the hooks in. Jr tries to escape but Bear has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Bear is not going to allow Jr to sit and survive in this position. Jr manages to reverse the position and now he's in Bear's guard. Nice work there by Jr.

That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Jr trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jr must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Jr is still trying to improve position. Jr is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bear is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bear is pushing down on Jr's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jr is fighting to maintain full guard but Bear has managed to sneak the leg through. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jr is not content to let Bear control the position.
