Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ralph Cifaretto!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Ron Honeybunn and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diego closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Diego has a couple of punches blocked by Cifaretto.
Diego misses with a hook from the clinch.

Diego lands a right hand that snaps the head of Cifaretto backwards.
Cifaretto tries for a takedown. No joy.

I was talking to Diego's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Cifaretto can't get the takedown.
Diego tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Cifaretto's elbow.
Diego tries to work over Cifaretto's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Cifaretto is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Diego gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Kron Diego has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ralph Cifaretto.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Diego is fighting off a takedown attempt but Cifaretto is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Diego to the mat. Diego regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Diego is wriggling around but Cifaretto manages to pass to half guard.

Diego is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Cifaretto has latched onto it... Big trouble! Cifaretto pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Diego is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Cifaretto!
