Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ken FrownFelter (ranked 2327 p4p, 1607 weight class) and Ben Dover (ranked 192 p4p, 137 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken FrownFelter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ben Dover!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
FrownFelter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dover pinned against the cage. Dover gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dover shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with FrownFelter but FrownFelter pushes him off and we're back to square one.
As Dover tries to get set, FrownFelter tries to push him back and clinch up but Dover manages to avoid the attempt.
FrownFelter displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dover.

and FrownFelter counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dover won't be happy with that.
Ken FrownFelter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Dover.
Dover is trying to get back to half guard.
Dover keeps trying to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dover is desperately trying to improve his position but FrownFelter has a good base and remains in mount.
Dover tries to hold on but FrownFelter postures up.
FrownFelter controlling the position easily from mount.
Dover sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Dover is holding on to half guard well.
Dover is looking to control FrownFelter's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dover avoid being mounted?

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dover closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. FrownFelter quickly recovers to half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
FrownFelter tries to roll over but Dover keeps him under control.
We've been informed that Dover has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Dover slips a nice elbow through FrownFelter's hands, connecting with FrownFelter's forehead.
Dover takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
FrownFelter tries to get to full guard but Dover has control of the leg.
FrownFelter has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dover is working away from the top position though.
FrownFelter is doing well to control the position and prevent Dover from advancing to side control.
FrownFelter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
FrownFelter trying to hold on to Dover's head to control him but Dover postures up.
Dover looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks FrownFelter with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

A close round but Ben Dover will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Dover dives in for a single leg takedown but FrownFelter sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
FrownFelter feinted with a counter takedown.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Dover.
Dover shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as FrownFelter sprawls well. FrownFelter wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dover gets slowly back to his feet.

Dover closes the distance and clinches up with FrownFelter, looking for a takedown. Dover pushes FrownFelter against the cage but FrownFelter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

FrownFelter leaves Dover with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ken FrownFelter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dover looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? FrownFelter is fending him off so far but Dover persists. Nope, FrownFelter circles away and we're back to standing.
Dover throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around FrownFelter's waist but FrownFelter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dover off to one side.
FrownFelter attempts a counter takedown but Dover avoids it well and moves away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dover is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Dover bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
