Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hugh Janus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michael Olawandi!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Olawandi wants to clinch up but Janus keeps it at a distance.

Janus shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Janus was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Janus's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Olawandi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Janus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

BOOM! Janus connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Olawandi really wants to buck Janus off and get back to his feet.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Janus cracks Olawandi with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Janus swats away the attempt to clinch by Olawandi.
Janus appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Janus is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Olawandi's shoulder. That is not cool.
Janus seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Olawandi for as long as he can get away with.

A lull in the action here as Janus stalls from top position.

Janus scores with a couple of short elbows.

Janus creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Janus is stinking the place up with his stalling.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Janus continues to hold on tight.
Janus lands an elbow.
Janus content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Olawandi is breathing heavily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Janus shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Olawandi is trying to defend but Janus finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Janus tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
