Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Demarion Mathis (ranked 2727 p4p, 5133 weight class) and Nordan Shlat (ranked 320 p4p, 477 weight class). Shlat has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Demarion Mathis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nordan Shlat! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Chris Downing.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shlat stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Shlat wants it to stay on the feet. Shlat misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Shlat looks winded! Shlat avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mathis looks for a takedown but Shlat sprawls well. Mathis moves in looking to clinch but Shlat pushes him off. Mathis shoots in for a takedown but Shlat shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Demarion Mathis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shlat lands a jab-cross combination. Demarion Mathis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mathis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shlat's waist but Shlat gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mathis off to one side. Shlat stuffs the takedown. As Mathis backs off Shlat throws a huge counter combo but Mathis manages to avoid it all.
Shlat gets caught flat footed, as Mathis shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Shlat is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mathis tries for a takedown. No joy.
Mathis is looking for a takedown. Mathis misses with a hook to the ribs.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Mathis tries to throw a body punch but Shlat avoids it by throwing Mathis back against the cage. Mathis has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Shlat is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Mathis is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Mathis drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Shlat gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Mathis definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Mathis is working for takedown but Shlat is calmly controlling the position for now. Mathis has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Shlat avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Mathis is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Shlat to keep the fight standing. Shlat blocks a body shot from Mathis.
Shlat breaks from the clinch.
Mathis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Shlat was covering up waiting for the punch and Mathis finishes the takedown easily into guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Mathis engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Shlat keeping full guard, as Mathis tries to pass. Mathis stands and throws Shlat's legs to the side, diving into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mathis is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shlat knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Mathis controlling the position.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Mathis tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Mathis is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Shlat looks calm but he's in trouble here. Mathis gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Shlat is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Mathis lets go of the hold and Shlat can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Demarion Mathis! Demarion Mathis decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
