Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Rice (ranked 25438 p4p, 3834 weight class) and Mitchell Beasley (ranked 352 p4p, 289 weight class). Beasley has chosen Welcome to Brixton as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mitchell Beasley!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Rice with that takedown attempt.
Beasley lands a jab to the head.
Beasley scores with a decent looking hook.
Rice fails with the takedown.
Nice sprawl there from Beasley as Rice shoots in.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jorge Rice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rice throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Beasley's waist but Beasley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rice off to one side.
Beasley swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

and Beasley counters with a left to the body.

Rice shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Beasley as he avoids it easily.
Beasley throws out a counter right but Rice avoids it with no problem.

and Beasley counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Beasley lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Beasley uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Rice has time to react.
Beasley leaves Rice with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Beasley! But no joy.
Rice shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Beasley pinned against the cage. Beasley gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Rice closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Rice has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Beasley finds it's way round the side to connect with Rice's head.
Rice is trying hard to land a takedown here. Beasley sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Beasley lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Rice misses with a takedown
and Beasley counters with a right hand to the body.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Rice will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Beasley, as that shot connected.

Rice looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Beasley is fending him off so far but Rice persists. Nope, Beasley circles away and we're back to standing.

Beasley slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Beasley has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Beasley's jab looks to have found its range, popping Rice under the eye.

Rice takes one on the chin but seems OK.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rice.

Mitchell Beasley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Rice's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Rice throws a lazy uppercut
and Beasley counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rice looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Rice dives in and grabs Beasley's left leg, looking for a takedown. Beasley pushes down on Rice's head and hops out.
Beasley looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Rice shoots in for a double leg but Beasley sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Rice tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Beasley swivels and escapes.
Beasley moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Rice tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Beasley scores with a jab to the body.
Beasley lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Rice backs up against the cage.
Rice doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Beasley counters with a nice uppercut.

Beasley bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rice takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Jorge Rice has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Rice is rocked!
Beasley lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Oh Rice is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rice shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Beasley counters with a crisp right that sends Rice to the canvas! Beasley follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mitchell Beasley!
Mitchell Beasley decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
