Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Romeo Rivera (ranked 3814 p4p, 4697 weight class) and Vasilii Lynchenko (ranked 420 p4p, 465 weight class). Rivera comes to the cage accompanied by Chief Keef - Love Sosa. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Romeo Rivera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vasilii Lynchenko!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurstr�m.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera throws a sloppy head kick

and Lynchenko counters with a single leg into guard. Rivera didn't expect that.
Lynchenko controls from within his opponent's guard.
Rivera looking to control.

Lynchenko looking to sit in guard and control but Rivera gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Rivera stays in close to Lynchenko's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lynchenko uses the cage to get back to his feet.

and Lynchenko decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rivera's guard.

Lynchenko is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Lynchenko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rivera. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rivera decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Romeo Rivera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Lynchenko counters with a single leg into guard. Rivera didn't expect that.

Lynchenko slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Lynchenko is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rivera is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rivera has escaped and now he's on top!

Rivera takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Lynchenko is looking for a sweep. Rivera is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lynchenko is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rivera tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Rivera tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lynchenko knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Rivera wants to stand but Lynchenko has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Lynchenko pushes Rivera off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rivera looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lynchenko is fending him off so far but Rivera persists. Nope, Lynchenko circles away and we're back to standing.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Lynchenko drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rivera manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lynchenko has Rivera in his guard.

Rivera wants to control from the top but Lynchenko keeps moving.

Lynchenko throws his legs up looking for a submission but Rivera uses it to pass to side control.
Lynchenko has one of Rivera's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
Rivera is trying to ground and pound but Lynchenko uses the momentary lack of control by Rivera to regain half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lynchenko is looking for a sweep. Rivera is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Lynchenko is breathing heavily.
Rivera lands with a punch from half guard.
Lynchenko won't allow Rivera to pass to mount.
Rivera tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Lynchenko.
Vasilii Lynchenko has got the better of the ground game so far.
Rivera controlling the action here.

Lynchenko is trying to get back to full guard.

Lynchenko has one foot on Rivera's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Lynchenko shoots in but Rivera avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rivera gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Lynchenko counters by moving into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Romeo Rivera. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lynchenko is pressed up against the cage. Rivera has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lynchenko down to the mat. Lynchenko avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

You can see the frustration on Rivera's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Rivera tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lynchenko wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Lynchenko wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rivera, who protects the arm well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Vasilii Lynchenko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Rivera's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Rivera looks to clinch

and Lynchenko counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lynchenko.

Rivera has his foot on Lynchenko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lynchenko works his way back into a safe position though.

Well Lynchenko has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
