Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Islam Makhachev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Obi Ojo Ii!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Makhachev gets tackled into the cage by Ojo Ii. Ojo Ii maintains the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Makhachev fails to land.
Makhachev drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Ojo Ii breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ojo Ii throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Makhachev.

Makhachev is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ojo Ii is just riding it out for now. Makhachev eventually gives up the hold.
Ojo Ii is looking to control Makhachev's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ojo Ii avoid being mounted?

Makhachev is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Ojo Ii still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Ojo Ii has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Makhachev changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ojo Ii looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Makhachev working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Makhachev looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Ojo Ii has picked Makhachev up and slammed him! Makhachev can't keep hold of the triangle and Ojo Ii manages to pass to side control!

Makhachev is looking to control Ojo Ii's arms but Ojo Ii gets an underhook and turns him. Now Makhachev has his back to the cage.

Ojo Ii's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Makhachev is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ojo Ii pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Ojo Ii has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Makhachev is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Makhachev wants to take the fight to the mat but Ojo Ii manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Makhachev wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Ojo Ii breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

A close second round but Obi Ojo Ii will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

A quick step to the side and Makhachev tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Makhachev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ojo Ii is fending him off so far but Makhachev persists. Nope, Ojo Ii circles away and we're back to standing.
Islam Makhachev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
