Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between mr general (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Allan Hawthorne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). mr general looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, mr general!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Allan Hawthorne!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hawthorne clinches.

Hawthorne breaks from the clinch.
Hawthorne wants to clinch.
Hawthorne shoots for a double leg takedown but general sprawls well. He's pushed Hawthorne's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
general shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Hawthorne counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in general's guard now.

general escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hawthorne gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

general is breathing heavily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hawthorne's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Hawthorne is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
general wants to improve his position but Hawthorne is controlling well.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hawthorne in particular looking to stall.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hawthorne perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Hawthorne closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

general goes for a takedown attempt but Hawthorne pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hawthorne looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Hawthorne bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Hawthorne is trying to get an arm triangle but general is defending well.
general is looking for a sweep.
Hawthorne lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear general down.

Hawthorne is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, general has escaped the position, nice work there.
general might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Allan Hawthorne showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hawthorne is trying to stick to general's back but general is turning into Hawthorne. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Hawthorne's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by general.
general wants to control from the top but Hawthorne keeps moving.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Hawthorne shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hawthorne showed some decent athleticism there.
general is staying active underneath Hawthorne, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Allan Hawthorne is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Hawthorne has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
