Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kenji Nakamura (ranked 4754 p4p, 3831 weight class) and Jen Van Marken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenji Nakamura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jen Van Marken! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nakamura gets caught flat footed, as Van Marken shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Nakamura seems keen to control Van Marken's posture. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Van Marken trying to control but Nakamura is working from the bottom. Nakamura is looking for a triangle but Van Marken pushes his legs off easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Van Marken scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Nakamura has his foot on Van Marken's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Van Marken works his way back into a safe position though. Van Marken wants to control from the top but Nakamura keeps moving. Nakamura avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nakamura keeping moving, preventing Van Marken from controlling successfully. Van Marken postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Van Marken trying to stand up but can't free himself from Nakamura's guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Van Marken trying to control but Nakamura is working from the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Nakamura looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Van Marken shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Van Marken tries to close the distance and clinch but Nakamura swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Nice takedown defense from Nakamura. No joy for Van Marken on that attempt. Nakamura tries a head kick but it misses.
Van Marken changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jab by Van Marken. Van Marken tries to clinch but Nakamura is having none of it. Van Marken tries to clinch up but Nakamura circles away and keeps his distance. Nakamura fails with the takedown and Van Marken counters with a one-two to the body. Nakamura is breathing heavily. A solid leg kick lands there for Van Marken.
Van Marken misses with a wild combination.
Nakamura is looking to counter the offense by Van Marken and move into the clinch. Nakamura stuffs the takedown attempt from Van Marken. Van Marken gets slowly back to his feet. Kenji Nakamura has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jen Van Marken. Nakamura looking to score a takedown here. Van Marken is defending well but Nakamura drives through and ends up in Van Marken's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Marken looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nakamura is one step ahead there. Van Marken controls Nakamura momentarily but Nakamura frees himself. Van Marken thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Nakamura sitting in guard here, content to control. Nakamura pushes down on Van Marken's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Van Marken is defending against the submission attempts here by Nakamura.
Van Marken wants to control but Nakamura is keeping busy and won't allow it. Van Marken makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Van Marken. Van Marken has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Van Marken looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nakamura is one step ahead there. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jen Van Marken dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! A low kick from Van Marken misses and Nakamura counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Van Marken is trying to stand up here but Nakamura is controlling him well. Nakamura is nestled in close to Van Marken, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Van Marken is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fighters are battling for position here. Van Marken manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Kenji Nakamura overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Nakamura's corner is telling him to maintain position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Van Marken is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Nakamura tries to stand but Van Marken is controlling from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nakamura controls from within his opponent's guard. Nakamura trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Van Marken tries to bum rush Nakamura with a series of wild strikes but Nakamura uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Nakamura scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Van Marken shoots in looking for a takedown but Nakamura manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Van Marken's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Nice takedown defense from Nakamura. No joy for Van Marken on that attempt. Excellent takedown into side control there by Nakamura. Van Marken bucks up and tries to throw Nakamura off but instead Nakamura has got his back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Van Marken just trying to survive but Nakamura is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Van Marken preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Nakamura. Van Marken wants to control his opponent's hands but Nakamura gets his hands free. Van Marken rolls, trying to escape but Nakamura keeps control of the position.
Nakamura scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Van Marken is looking for a way out. Nakamura is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Van Marken has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Marken covers up after that shot from Nakamura.
Van Marken manages to reverse the position and now he's in Nakamura's guard. Nice work there by Van Marken.
Nakamura has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Van Marken can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Van Marken passes Nakamura's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Van Marken tries to stand but his arm is trapped. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Van Marken is keen to just control but Nakamura is a slippery customer. Van Marken looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Nakamura makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Nakamura. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kenji Nakamura dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round! Van Marken thows a leg kick but Nakamura checks it and Nakamura counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Van Marken missing with punches from the bottom.
Nakamura is thwarting Van Marken's attempts to control the position. Van Marken tries to roll over but Nakamura keeps him under control. Nakamura working the head and body with strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Van Marken is looking to control Nakamura's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Van Marken avoid being mounted? The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Marken is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Van Marken takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Nakamura connects with a nice short shot to Van Marken's temple. Nakamura is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Nakamura trying to control the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Van Marken tries to get to full guard but Nakamura has control of the leg. Nakamura perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Kenji Nakamura is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Van Marken instigates a clinch. Nakamura tries to pull guard but Van Marken holds him up against the cage and eventually Nakamura drops back down to his feet.
Nakamura goes for a takedown in the clinch but Van Marken prevents it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Marken jumps guard and drags Nakamura to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Nakamura trying to control the position from guard on top but Van Marken is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nakamura is looking to work some ground and pound but Van Marken has wrist control. Nakamura is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Nakamura engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Van Marken is looking to sweep but instead, Nakamura has passed into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nakamura not doing much here.
Van Marken moves into full guard.
Van Marken wants to stand up but Nakamura is controlling him. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Van Marken holds on and takes a little breather.
And that's the end of the fight! Kenji Nakamura showed his dominance in that final round. I think Nakamura has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
