Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jordan Soibler!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Sergei Dronov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soibler misses with an uppercut.
Soibler throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Miranda counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Miranda lands a nice shot to the body.
Miranda is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Soibler has had enough of the clinch but Miranda keeps him there for the moment.
Soibler looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Miranda tries for a takedown. No joy.
Miranda breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Soibler takes a swing at Miranda's ribcage but misses.

Soibler is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Miranda manages to break the clinch.

letting Soibler counter with a right hand.
Soibler throws an overhand right that lands on Miranda's shoulder, as Miranda tries to avoid the shot.

and Soibler makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Miranda is defended easily by Soibler.
Miranda has taken the fight to the clinch.
Miranda escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Soibler throws a left and a right that both miss
and Miranda holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Miranda pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Miranda gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Miranda has Soibler pulled in close to control his posture.

Miranda knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Soibler on the ground.

Miranda is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Soibler's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Soibler's back!

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Miranda will probably get the nod.
That's time! Miranda's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Soibler counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Miranda shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Soibler defends it nicely.
Miranda moves into range and clinches up with Soibler.

Soibler tries to break the clinch but Miranda is controlling the position.
Soibler has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Soibler is looking to break free of the clinch but Miranda has double underhooks.
Miranda's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Miranda forces Soibler back against the cage and clinches.

Miranda has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Soibler uses from the top position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Soibler's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Soibler is looking for a kimura but Miranda is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Soibler to get the leverage.
Miranda manages to get to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Soibler is looking for a kimura but Miranda is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Soibler to get the leverage.

Soibler is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Miranda has managed to free his arm - good work.
Miranda wants to get back to full guard.

Soibler uses his free foot to push down on Miranda's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Miranda.
Miranda wants to control but Soibler is having none of it.
Miranda avoids a series of strikes thrown by Soibler.
Miranda is wriggling around trying to escape.
Soibler lands a big shot there that rocks Miranda but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Miranda tries to hold on but Soibler postures up.
Miranda has left one of his arms exposed and Soibler doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Miranda screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
