This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cowboy. Williams fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cowboy sprawls well initially but Williams persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Williams is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cowboy defends it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Williams seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cowboy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Cowboy trying to control here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cowboy is not content to let Williams control the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cowboy can do anything to dispel that myth. Cowboy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Williams is working away from the top position though. Cowboy is holding on to half guard well. Williams is figuring out what he wants to do next. Williams is thwarting Cowboy's attempts to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams controlling the action here. Williams has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Cowboy tries to roll over but Williams keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Williams is looking for a kimura but Cowboy is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Williams to get the leverage. Cowboy moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cowboy is looking for a triangle here but Williams uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Cowboy can't do much from the bottom here. Williams is looking to take a break and control but Cowboy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Williams is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Cowboy has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Williams has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Cowboy taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Williams doesn't care though - he's delighted!
