This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 88 wins and 129 losses; Tobias Pancake! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 48 wins and 27 losses; Trip Fontaine! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Pancake dives in for a single leg takedown but Fontaine sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes. Pancake has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Fontaine avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Pancake drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Fontaine gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tobias Pancake. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pancake is trying to pull guard but Fontaine has him pressed against the ropes. Pancake jumps guard but Fontaine stands there with Pancake around his waist. Pancake gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Fontaine is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Pancake tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Fontaine just stands there and leans against the ropes. Pancake goes for a takedown in the clinch but Fontaine prevents it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fontaine is pressed up against the ropes. Pancake has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Fontaine down to the mat. Fontaine avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Pancake misses with a takedown and Fontaine counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Pancake (0) vs (2) Fontaine Fontaine perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Pancake is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Fontaine has latched onto it... Big trouble! Fontaine pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Pancake is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Fontaine!
