Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Guerra (ranked 3846 p4p, 3788 weight class) and Tah Pang (ranked 411 p4p, 403 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tah Pang!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pang clinches.
Guerra tries to throw a body punch but Pang avoids it by throwing Guerra back against the cage.
The referee calls for Pang to work.
Guerra is trying to break the clinch but Pang has him pressed against the cage.
Guerra wants to get back to striking at distance but Pang won't allow it.
Pang keeps control of Guerra as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Pang's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Guerra shoots in and drives through. Pang sprawls well.
Pang closes the distance and clinches up with Guerra, looking for a takedown. Pang pushes Guerra against the cage but Guerra circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Pang slaps away a takedown attempt from Guerra, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Mauricio Guerra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Guerra keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Guerra wants to stand but Pang is controlling his posture from full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pang controls Guerra momentarily but Guerra frees himself.
Pang has a closed guard, preventing Guerra from standing up.

Pang wants to sweep but no luck.
Pang is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Guerra stands up and waves to Pang to follow him.

Pang jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Guerra walks away with a smile on his face. Pang gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Pang throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Guerra.
Pang displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Guerra.
Pang unleashes a big counter combination but Guerra bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Pang keeps the fight on the outside.
Guerra wants to clinch.
Pang shoots in for a takedown but Guerra shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Guerra throws a series of punches but Pang avoids them all with ease.
Pang fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Pang looks winded!
Pang misses with a kick to the body.
Guerra goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Guerra tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pang manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Guerra misses with a takedown attempt - Pang sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
This has been an exciting period of action!

That was a close round but I would say that Mauricio Guerra will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Pang shoots in looking for a takedown but Guerra manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pang's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Guerra manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Pang - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Pang tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Guerra just stands there and leans against the cage.
Pang takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Pang throws a right and a left that Guerra avoids nicely.
A nice leg kick lands there from Pang.

The fight stays on the outside here - Guerra looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Guerra lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pang circles away quickly and effectively.

A solid leg kick lands there for Pang.
Guerra throws a right hand that Pang ducks under and follows up with a left that Pang also avoids with ease.

Pang pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pang defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Guerra.
Pang shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Guerra pinned against the cage. Guerra gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Guerra takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Guerra tries to clinch up but Pang circles away and keeps his distance.

Pang takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Guerra looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pang is fending him off so far but Guerra persists. Nope, Pang circles away and we're back to standing.
Pang shoots for a double leg takedown but Guerra sprawls well. He's pushed Pang's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Guerra misses with a series of wild punches.
Pang lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pang closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Pang pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pang throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Guerra.
Guerra attempts a counter takedown but Pang avoids it well and moves away.
Guerra tries to clinch but Pang is having none of it.
Pang wants to counter the offense by Guerra and move into the clinch position.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Tah Pang.
I think Pang has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
