PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Stryka Beam (ranked 3357 p4p, 4825 weight class) and Patrick Kimchi (ranked 353 p4p, 447 weight class). Beam comes to the cage accompanied by Fiend by Travis Scott. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stryka Beam!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Patrick Kimchi!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beam stuffs the takedown attempt from Kimchi. Kimchi gets slowly back to his feet.
Kimchi tries to clinch but Beam moves out of range.

Beam closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Beam has Kimchi pressed against the cage, preventing Kimchi from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Beam's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kimchi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Beam tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Kimchi manages to circle out of the way.
Kimchi wants to clinch up but Beam keeps it at a distance.
Beam throws a big counter combination but Kimchi scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Beam slaps away a takedown attempt from Kimchi, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Stryka Beam has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Kimchi.

Beam drives through and clinches with Kimchi against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Beam lands an elbow inside that Kimchi shrugs off.

Beam escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Beam moves into the clinch successfully.
Kimchi tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Beam avoids it.

Beam escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Beam closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Beam pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kimchi wants to clinch.

Beam gets a clinch.

Beam breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Oooooh!!! Beam has knocked Kimchi down with a huge combo! Beam steps away and waves a wobbly Kimchi back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Kimchi is rocked!

It looks like Patrick Kimchi has been cut.

Beam darts in and clinches Kimchi up against the cage.
Kimchi is still on wobbly legs! Can Beam finish him?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kimchi is pressed against the cage. Beam pushes back and unleashes a big elbow that really hurts Kimchi! Two more big strikes from Beam and Kimchi crumples to the mat and taps out furiously due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Stryka Beam!
Stryka Beam is the new middleweight champion!
A less than humble Stryka Beam misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
