Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frederico Mora (ranked 2645 p4p, 4110 weight class) and Carlos Valverde (ranked 223 p4p, 308 weight class). Frederico Mora has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Frederico Mora! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Valverde! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mora takes a swing at Valverde's ribcage but misses. Valverde is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Mora changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Mora gets caught napping as Valverde dives in and scores a takedown. Mora manages to retain guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Valverde thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Valverde stands up and waves to Mora to follow him. A nice combination there by Mora.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mora misses the shot to the body. Valverde shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mora regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Valverde.
That's one minute gone in the round. Valverde thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Mora had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Valverde defends it easily. Valverde postures up and lands a big shot to Mora's brow. Mora is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Valverde is aware though and is defending well. Valverde is looking to stand up but Mora won't let him. Mora is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Mora looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Valverde drops back looking for a leg! Mora is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mora manages to kick Valverde off! Valverde jumps back into Mora's guard. Valverde slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Valverde's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Mora is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Valverde defends well. Mora has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Valverde can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Oh, that's bad for Mora! Valverde tries to move to full mount but Mora actually manages to regain half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Mora manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Valverde trying to control but Mora is working from the bottom. Valverde must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Valverde misses with the combination.

Mora closes the distance and lands a one-two. Frederico Mora has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mora lands with a nice body punch. Mora throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Mora changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Valverde bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Mora is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Valverde off and has taken his back! Valverde wants to get back to his feet. Mora doesn't have the hooks in and Valverde manages to turn into his guard.
