Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zanzabar Duke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacoby Wilcox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Duke might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Uprising. Jacoby Wilcox is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zanzabar Duke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacoby Wilcox! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilcox closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wilcox lands in his opponent's guard. Wilcox controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Duke working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Wilcox. Wilcox wants to pass the guard but Duke is keeping the position. Wilcox slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Wilcox is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Duke has escaped the position, nice work there. Wilcox blocks the strikes from Duke.
Duke throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Duke wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. Wilcox is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Duke is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Wilcox moves into full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilcox controlling from the full mount. Wilcox blocks Duke's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Duke flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Duke is trying to escape the mount.
Duke throwing hammer fists to the chest of Wilcox. What's that going to do exactly? Duke is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Wilcox looking to control and managing it successfully. Duke avoids a series of strikes thrown by Wilcox.
Duke is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Wilcox takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Duke regains half guard. Wilcox passes to side control. Duke is trying to control Wilcox's posture but Wilcox avoids it. Wilcox has hold of Duke's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Duke seems comfortable defending it but Wilcox has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Duke is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Duke is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Wilcox couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jacoby Wilcox!
