Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ed Swirly (ranked 4888 p4p, 2963 weight class) and Chengji Li (ranked 469 p4p, 326 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Swirly might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The sound of goats screaming. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Ed Swirly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chengji Li!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swirly with the inside leg kick.
Swirly throws a low kick but Li moves out of range easily.
Li looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Li missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Li seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Swirly does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Li lands strikes from half guard.
Li thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Nice strikes from Li there.
Swirly knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Li on the ground.
Li thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Swirly's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Li wants to take a breather but Swirly is having none of it.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Li in particular looking to stall.
Li is nestled in close to Swirly, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Li thows a huge punch but Swirly dodges it nicely.
Li seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Swirly does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Li working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Li looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Swirly with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Li drops an elbow to the side of Swirly's head.
Li seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Li is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Li looking to control but Swirly is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Swirly in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Li has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Swirly is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Li lands a heavy elbow.
BOOM! Li connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Li postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Swirly looks a forlorn figure.
Swirly is rocked!
Li loads up with a big shot that hurts Swirly! He's pulled Li in close but Li has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Swirly survive? More strikes from Li and Swirly is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Chengji Li!
During a confident post fight interview, Chengji Li thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
In defeat, Ed Swirly stepped up to the mic, saying 'Losses don't bother me because I know I'll swirl right back around.'.
