Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between William Riker (ranked 1173 p4p, 2221 weight class) and Brock Duncan (ranked 92 p4p, 153 weight class). Riker comes to the cage accompanied by Soulfly - Pain. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Riker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brock Duncan! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riker clinches up against the cage. Riker works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Riker is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Duncan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Riker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Riker's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Riker postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Riker controls from within his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Riker connects with a couple of short punches. Riker scoring with punches to the head and body. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Riker's corner. There ya go! There ya go! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Duncan can do anything to dispel that myth. Riker is working Duncan over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Duncan controls Riker momentarily but Riker frees himself. Riker keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Duncan's head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Duncan controlling Riker's posture. Riker will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Riker stops Duncan from standing up. Riker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duncan thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Riker working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Duncan's head. Riker sitting in guard, not really doing much. Riker with a nice head shot there. Duncan wants to sweep here but Riker controlling him for the moment. Duncan trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Riker keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Duncan's head. Riker working some strikes from top position. Duncan will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Riker is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Riker is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Duncan wants to get back to his feet but Riker is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Riker lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Duncan wants to get back to his feet but Riker passes into half guard.
Riker takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Riker working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Duncan is looking to escape. Riker slips a nice elbow through Duncan's hands, connecting with Duncan's forehead.
Duncan is rocked! Riker trying to control from half guard but Duncan is working away. Duncan is in trouble now - Riker has advanced to mount! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Riker working Duncan over with strikes here. Duncan is still in real trouble! Can Riker finish him? Riker unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Duncan wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Riker celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). William Riker! William Riker bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
