Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Diego Hageman (ranked 21237 p4p, 4398 weight class) and Alan West (ranked 433 p4p, 352 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 35 - 36 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Diego Hageman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alan West! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! West looking to score a takedown here. Hageman is defending well but West drives through and ends up in Hageman's guard. West controls from within his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. West tries to free his leg and advance position but Hageman is retaining full guard. Hageman controlling the position. West is stalling in the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. West wants to control from the top but Hageman keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hageman seems keen to control West's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hageman's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. West trying to control the position from guard on top but Hageman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Hageman tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but West defends well and Hageman ends up having to push West into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. West wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. West jumps guard but Hageman stands there with West around his waist. West gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hageman has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. West avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diego Hageman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hageman is fighting off a takedown attempt but West is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Hageman to the mat. Hageman regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. West trying to control but Hageman is working from the bottom. West is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. West wants to control from the top but Hageman keeps moving. West is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. West looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hageman holds on and takes a little breather. West won't allow Hageman to sweep him here.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. West shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than West was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! West trying to control the position but Hageman is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hageman seems a little lost for a moment, as West dominates the positioning. West advances to mount. West trying to control but Hageman is having none of it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! West takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

West scores with a takedown into Hageman's guard. We've been informed that West has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Hageman trying to keep a closed guard but West is proving a slippery customer.
West is stalling in the full guard. Hageman is controlling West's posture. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. West seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. West has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Hageman has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. West is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hageman. West wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hageman keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hageman trying to remain calm as West controls from the top position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hageman gets caught flat footed, as West shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. West not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. West being controlled here momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. West content to stall in guard here. West must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hageman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. West looking to pass the guard. Alan West has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. West is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Hageman wants to sweep here but West controlling him for the moment.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Hageman gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows West to score an easy takedown into full guard. Hageman keeping full guard, as West tries to pass. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! West is stalling in the full guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Alan West showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hageman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hageman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Diego Hageman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hageman is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Alan West is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. And that's the end of the fight! Alan West comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well West has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
