In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 15 wins and 9 losses; Kron Gracie! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 0 losses; Saul Hunter! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Columbo Gatti and Steve Montenegro.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Hunter drives through with a takedown into Gracie's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Gracie (0) vs (2) Hunter Gracie working a defensive guard but Hunter manages to pass into side control anyway.
Score +3 for passing guard: Gracie (0) vs (5) Hunter Gracie is trying to control Hunter's posture but Hunter avoids it. Gracie being controlled for a moment. Hunter's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Score +4 for clean sweep to past guard: Gracie (4) vs (5) Hunter What can Hunter do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Gracie seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hunter for as long as he can get away with.

Let's hope that Hunter has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Gracie has his hands on Hunter's head, controlling the position. Hunter content to stall in guard here.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gracie holds on and takes a little breather. Hunter sitting in guard here, content to control. Hunter is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Gracie keeping full guard, as Hunter tries to pass. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hunter is stalling in the full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Hunter wins on points by 7 to 4. Saul Hunter decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well. |
