Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Derek Drymon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, khalil Jones! The judges for this bout are , and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones fails in his attempt to clinch. Drymon just misses with a punch to the body.

Drymon goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Drymon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Drymon tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jones throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Drymon. Jones moves out of range as Drymon strikes. Nice combo by Drymon! Oh, that's hurt him - Jones falls to the canvas and Drymon follows him into side control.
It looks like khalil Jones has been cut. Drymon decides to stand back up. Drymon feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Jones sprawling to the canvas! Jones rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Drymon finish him?!
Jones is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jones avoids the head kick by Drymon.
Drymon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jones dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Drymon swings for the body but Jones moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones throws out a loose jab but Drymon uses good head movement to avoid it. Drymon misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jones.
Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Jones with good strikes from the mount here! Jones thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Drymon is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Jones unloading with bombs! Drymon is bucking up trying to escape but Jones cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Drymon is breathing heavily. Drymon is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Jones fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee warns Drymon that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Jones looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Jones wants to control the pace but Drymon is squirming around nicely. Drymon is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Jones landing strikes from the mount. Jones can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Drymon is looking to escape. Jones cracks Drymon with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones breaks from Drymon's wrist control and lands an elbow. Jones landing strikes from the mount and Drymon is in trouble! Jones thowing shots but they're missing. Drymon is trying to stand up. Jones dominating with strikes here. Drymon wants to try and get back to his feet. Jones fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Jones with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Drymon is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Drymon somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet! Drymon throws a wild combination but nothing lands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but khalil Jones will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on khalil Jones's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Drymon throws a hook but Jones blocks it. Jones scores with a jab. Drymon acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Drymon throws a leg kick but Jones checks it. Drymon misses with a wild body shot. Drymon throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Drymon is fending him off so far but Jones persists. Nope, Drymon circles away and we're back to standing. Jones tries to clinch up but Drymon circles away and keeps his distance. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A head kick misses from Jones. Jones uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Drymon.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones ducks under a wild hook from Drymon. Derek Drymon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Drymon is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jones. Drymon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Derek Drymon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jones ducks under a wild hook from Drymon. Jones scores with a three punch combo!
Derek Drymon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jones connects with a looping right hand.
Jab by Jones. An inside leg kick from Drymon misses. Jones tries to clinch but Drymon is having none of it. Jones lands a head kick. Drymon smiles back at him and beckons him forward. and Drymon takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Jones tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Drymon is able to avoid easily. Drymon looks to score with a jab to the body but Jones is just out of range. Jones misses with a head kick.

and Jones counters with a lovely straight right hand! Decent striking displayed by Jones there. Drymon throws a chopping leg kick but Jones manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Jones is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Drymon's half guard. Drymon is staying active underneath Jones, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Jones wants to stand but Drymon has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Drymon is trying to stand back up but Jones is controlling him

and Jones counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Jones checks a low kick from Drymon. Drymon is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Jones slips under a jab from Drymon. Jones tries to clinch up. Nice uppercut there from Drymon. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Drymon swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Drymon has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jones finds it's way round the side to connect with Drymon's head. Drymon missing with a left hand there. Jones was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
khalil Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on khalil Jones's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

and Jones counters with a left to the body. The fighters circle momentarily. Jones darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Jones scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Jab, jab by Drymon - just one landing. Jones defending well as Drymon loads up on a big left hand. Drymon lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively. Jones closes the distance and pushes Drymon back into the cage. Jones is trying to break free. Drymon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jones wants to clinch up but Drymon keeps it at a distance. Drymon fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jones. Jones moves out of range of the body kick from Drymon.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Some wild striking there from Drymon.
Drymon takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Jones moves out of range of the body kick. Jones swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Drymon takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Drymon throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Jones to counter with a crisp jab. Jones tries to clinch but Drymon moves out of range. A big right from Drymon misses. Jones just misses with a punch to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Jones connects with the punch. Drymon misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Jones counters by clinching up. Drymon drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jones gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Drymon tries to pull guard but Jones holds him up against the cage and eventually Drymon drops back down to his feet.

and Jones counters with a straight right hand. Jones scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Drymon doesn't seem bothered though. Jones closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Drymon wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Drymon sneaks out the side door and pushes Jones away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. A cross from Drymon lands. Jones connects with a nice looking jab.
Drymon darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Drymon lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. A left lands for Drymon. Drymon falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Jones to counter with a crisp jab. Jones moves in looking to clinch but Drymon pushes him off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Jones blocks a low kick nicely. Jones misses with a takedown attempt - Drymon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Jab from Drymon. Drymon throws a low kick but it's checked well by Jones. Drymon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Drymon throws a sloppy body shot
and Drymon takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Derek Drymon is winning the standup battle so far. Drymon misses with a combination
letting Jones counter with a right hand. Drymon looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Jones staying out of range there. Derek Drymon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! khalil Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Jones scores with the left hand. Drymon knows he should have avoided that one.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Derek Drymon. I think Jones has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
