Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wesley Crusher (ranked 2184 p4p, 3020 weight class) and Jesus Huerta (ranked 255 p4p, 340 weight class). Crusher's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Cypress Hill - Valley Of Chrome. The crowd seem to be enjoying Huerta's choice of entrance music: Hotel California. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huerta fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Crusher on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
It looks like Wesley Crusher has been cut.
Huerta bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Crusher's head.
Huerta with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Crusher to score with a decent uppercut.
Crusher takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Crusher misses with a few strikes there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Huerta has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Crusher ducks under a wild hook from Huerta.
Crusher drops down looking for a counter takedown but Huerta sprawls and moves away.

and Huerta cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Crusher throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Huerta throws a hook to the side of Crusher's head but Crusher sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Crusher works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Huerta has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Huerta connects with a jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Huerta clobbers Crusher with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Crusher thows a left - swing and a miss!

Huerta stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Huerta is trying hard to land a takedown here. Crusher sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Wesley Crusher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesus Huerta.
The fighters circling - Crusher throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Crusher swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Huerta keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Crusher.
Huerta fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Crusher throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Huerta looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Jesus Huerta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Crusher swings and misses with a hook to the body.

A big left from Huerta misses.
Crusher lands a big right hand that sends Huerta crashing to the mat! Crusher stays standing though and waves Huerta back to his feet!
Huerta might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Huerta shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Crusher pinned against the cage. Crusher gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Crusher feinted with a counter takedown.
Crusher connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Huerta! He's out on his feet! Crusher rushes in and drops Huerta with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Wesley Crusher!
In his post fight interview, Wesley Crusher started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
