Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between The Viktor (ranked 3821 p4p, 3294 weight class) and Jonathan Ayers (ranked 202 p4p, 183 weight class). Jonathan Ayers is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, The Viktor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jonathan Ayers!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Chris Edwards and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Viktor moves in looking to clinch but Ayers pushes him off.
Viktor misses with a takedown

and Ayers counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ayers.
Viktor is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Ayers to keep the fight standing.

Ayers manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Viktor tries to free his leg and advance position but Ayers is retaining full guard.
Ayers has control of Viktor's left arm, preventing Viktor from doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ayers can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Viktor looks for a takedown but Ayers sprawls well.
As Viktor backs off Ayers throws a huge counter combo but Viktor manages to avoid it all.

Ayers closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Viktor is looking to get back to his feet here but Ayers is keeping cool and he's managed to take Viktor's back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ayers keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Ayers tries to kick Viktor off but Viktor keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Ayers is not content to let Viktor control the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Viktor tries to clinch up but Ayers circles away and keeps his distance.
Viktor looks for a takedown but Ayers sprawls well.
Viktor scores with a shot to the body.

Ayers closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ayers lands in his opponent's guard.
Ayers slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Ayers must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Ayers is looking to stand up but Viktor won't let him.
Viktor can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ayers controls the pace.
Ayers has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Viktor is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ayers is controlling him.
Ayers wants to get up but he can't break Viktor's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Ayers is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Viktor trying to keep a closed guard but Ayers is proving a slippery customer.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Viktor looking for a sweep. Not yet Viktor, not yet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Ayers feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Ayers is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Ayers throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Viktor changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Ayers shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ayers showed some decent athleticism there.
Ayers works his foot free and advances to mount.
Ayers prevents Viktor from getting the reversal.

Ayers pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Viktor reaches up to try and control the position but Ayers seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Viktor rolls and tries to escape and now Ayers has his back!

Ayers is persistently looking for the submission but Viktor is defending it well.
Ayers is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

I've got Ayers winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
