PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gregor Reilly (ranked 500 p4p, 2875 weight class) and Francesco Garrone (ranked 59 p4p, 269 weight class). Reilly comes into the arena with Cannonball/ The Breeders blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gregor Reilly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Francesco Garrone!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reilly thows a left - swing and a miss!

Reilly had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Garrone defends it easily.

Garrone has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Reilly is proving hard to escape from.

Reilly shoots in looking for a takedown. Garrone tries to sprawl out of it but Reilly keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Garrone manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Garrone's coach down at California Top Team was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Garrone's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Reilly lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Reilly looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Garrone scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

I would just about give that final round to Francesco Garrone.
I've got Garrone winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
