Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Edgar John (ranked 3090 p4p, 4849 weight class) and Jack Mehoff (ranked 339 p4p, 435 weight class). Edgar John has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edgar John! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jack Mehoff! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! John slips under a jab from Mehoff. John steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mehoff. John throws a big counter combination but Mehoff scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Jack Mehoff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. John looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. John slips under a jab. It looked like John was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Mehoff swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
John swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. John takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Mehoff throws a right hand that misses

John eats them both and turns towards Mehoff to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. John slips a straight right by Mehoff. John looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Mehoff swinging wildly here.

and John counters with a crisp one two that drops Mehoff! John thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Mehoff to his feet! Mehoff is in big trouble!

Mehoff is still on wobbly legs! Can John finish him? Mehoff throws a right and a left that John avoids nicely. Mehoff seems to have recovered his senses. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mehoff throws a jab but it's blocked by John. Mehoff might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. It looked like John was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Mehoff. This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether John might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
