Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reid Erickson (ranked 2831 p4p, 3474 weight class) and Pharoh Dong (ranked 328 p4p, 376 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Reid Erickson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Pharoh Dong! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dong swings away with a body shot that misses
and Erickson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Erickson thuds his right hand into Dong's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
It looks like Pharoh Dong has been cut. Dong lands a head shot. We've been told by Erickson's head coaches at BANZAI COMBAT ACADEMY HELSINKI that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Erickson slips a jab from Dong. Dong scores with a punch to the head. Erickson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dong sees it coming and avoids it easily. Dong jabs Erickson right on the nose. Erickson blinks but takes it well. Dong doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Erickson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Dong counters with a lovely straight right hand! Erickson moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Erickson misses the body punch and Dong counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dong avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Dong moves out of range of the strikes. A countering left hand to the body from Dong misses. Erickson just misses with a punch to the body.
A nice side step and Dong releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Dong misses with an uppercut. Erickson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Dong looks winded! Erickson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Erickson throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Dong swinging wildly here.
Dong ducks under a wild hook from Erickson. As Erickson backs off Dong throws a huge counter combo but Erickson manages to avoid it all.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dong staying out of range there. Dong walks into a stiff left hand from Erickson. Erickson lands a right hook to the body.
Dong misses the shot to the body. Dong displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Erickson throws out the jab. A telegraphed right hand from Erickson misses the target. Erickson swings for the body but Dong moves out of range.
Dong is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Reid Erickson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Erickson throws an overhand right that lands on Dong's shoulder, as Dong tries to avoid the shot. Erickson looks to throw the jab but Dong is out of range. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Erickson with a hook. Erickson cracks Dong with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Dong tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Erickson pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Dong is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Reid Erickson!
