Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gustavo Andracias! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michael Olawandi! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Andracias lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Andracias. Olawandi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Andracias avoids it really well and circles away. Andracias attempts a counter takedown but Olawandi avoids it well and moves away. Olawandi tries to clinch but Andracias moves out of range. Olawandi throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Olawandi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Andracias sprawls well. Andracias wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Olawandi gets slowly back to his feet. Olawandi moves in looking to clinch but Andracias pushes him off. As Olawandi tries to get set, Andracias tries to push him back and clinch up but Olawandi manages to avoid the attempt. Andracias really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Andracias lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Olawandi tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Andracias is able to avoid easily. Andracias wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Olawandi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Olawandi wants it to stay on the feet. Andracias displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Olawandi stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Andracias. We've been hearing reports that Andracias has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Olawandi misses with a looping left. Andracias pulls out of a head kick attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Andracias throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Andracias lands with a hook. Olawandi tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Olawandi goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Olawandi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Andracias pinned against the cage. Andracias gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Gustavo Andracias has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Olawandi. Andracias attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Olawandi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Andracias swivels and escapes. Andracias went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Andracias gets caught flat footed, as Olawandi shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. Andracias darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Andracias prevents Olawandi from standing back up.
Andracias content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Olawandi is trying to maintain the position but Andracias is very close to passing his half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Andracias sitting and controlling from the half guard. Andracias's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Andracias throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Olawandi to regain full guard. Andracias content to stall in guard here. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Andracias postures up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Olawandi scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Andracias doesn't seem bothered though. Olawandi shoots in and drives through. Andracias sprawls well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Andracias instigates a clinch. Andracias throws an elbow but it misses.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Andracias pulls guard. Olawandi throws a big right hand that misses. Andracias wants to sweep but no luck. Andracias escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Olawandi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Andracias drives through with a takedown into Olawandi's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Andracias is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Olawandi can do to turn this around? Olawandi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Olawandi tries to pass to full mount but Andracias defends it. Andracias is staying active underneath Olawandi, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Andracias is doing well to control the position and prevent Olawandi from advancing to side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Andracias is not content to let Olawandi control the position. Olawandi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Andracias defends it well.

Andracias is trying to control Olawandi's posture but Olawandi avoids it. Andracias tries to bench press Olawandi off him but Olawandi keeps the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Olawandi working away. Andracias is trying to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Andracias gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Andracias holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Andracias is refusing to be controlled, as Olawandi sits in half guard. Olawandi slips a nice elbow through Andracias's hands, connecting with Andracias's forehead. Olawandi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Andracias doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Olawandi. Olawandi escapes and gets back to his feet.

Olawandi tries to clinch but Andracias moves out of range. Andracias jabs at Olawandi's body. Andracias shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Olawandi eats them both and turns towards Andracias to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Olawandi leaves Andracias with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Olawandi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Andracias throws a right and a left that both miss. Olawandi throws out a counter right but Andracias avoids it with no problem. Andracias throws a half hearted mid kick. Olawandi looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Andracias has taken the fight to the clinch.
Andracias is looking for a takedown. Andracias fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gustavo Andracias. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Olawandi goes for a takedown attempt but Andracias pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

The strikes coming from Olawandi are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Olawandi wants to control but Andracias is keeping him busy. Michael Olawandi has got the better of the ground game so far. Olawandi tries for a kimura but Andracias is defending well. Olawandi wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Andracias, who protects the arm well. Olawandi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Olawandi throws a strike aimed at the side of Andracias's head but Andracias avoids it well. Andracias on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Andracias tries to get out of the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Andracias tries to get back to half guard but can't. Olawandi is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Andracias has escaped the position, nice work there. Olawandi trying to control the action but Andracias is working from the bottom. A control attempt from Andracias but he's now mounted! Olawandi prevents Andracias from getting the reversal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Olawandi avoids the attempt from Andracias to control. Olawandi lands with some strikes. Gustavo Andracias is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Andracias tries to hold on but Olawandi pushes him away. Olawandi tries to control but Andracias wriggling away. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Andracias is in all sorts of trouble here.
Michael Olawandi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Andracias is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
