And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 88 wins and 130 losses; Tobias Pancake! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Singleton stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Singleton wants it to stay on the feet. Singleton shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pancake's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Singleton (2) vs (0) Pancake Singleton works a leg free and moves into half guard. Pancake tries to roll over but Singleton keeps him under control. Pancake is trying to control but Singleton passes into side control!
Score +3 for passing guard: Singleton (5) vs (0) Pancake Pancake is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Pancake is trying to control Singleton's posture but Singleton avoids it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pancake is looking to reverse the position. Singleton controlling the position. We've been hearing good reports from Singleton's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Pancake tries to bench press Singleton off him but Singleton keeps the position.

Pancake tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Singleton wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Singleton controls the position. Singleton's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pancake for as long as he can get away with. Pancake is trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Singleton controlling the position. Singleton continues to stall. Pancake is looking to reverse the position. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Pancake is trying to escape the position but Singleton is controlling the position. Pancake is looking to reverse the position. Singleton controlling from side mount.
