Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Naoki Inoue (ranked 2860 p4p, 3329 weight class) and Wathjee Johnson (ranked 165 p4p, 189 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Naoki Inoue! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Wathjee Johnson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Johnson with a body punch. A glancing blow. Johnson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Inoue's hands. Johnson pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Inoue takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Johnson cracks Inoue with an open hand slap. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson moves into range and connects with a jab. Wathjee Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Inoue slips under a jab. Inoue was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Johnson tests Inoue's chin there with a solid looking shot. Johnson pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Inoue with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Johnson to score with a decent uppercut. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Wathjee Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round! Johnson catches Inoue with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Johnson scores with a body shot.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Inoue might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. And that's the end of the fight! Wathjee Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Johnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
