Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bryson Whitehead (ranked 1636 p4p, 2959 weight class) and Andy Kent (ranked 167 p4p, 281 weight class). Andy Kent told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bryson Whitehead! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andy Kent! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kent shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Whitehead's guard. Whitehead pulls Kent in close to his closed guard and prevents Kent from doing any damage or advancing position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kent advances position into side control! Whitehead regains half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kent wants to lay and pray for a moment but Whitehead keeps working. Whitehead preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Whitehead has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Whitehead is looking to improve his position.
Kent is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Whitehead sees it coming and defends easily. Kent is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Whitehead has managed to free his arm - good work. Whitehead is defending against the submission attempts here by Kent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Whitehead is looking to improve his position.
Whitehead is trying to control but can't.
Kent keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kent uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Whitehead. Whitehead lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Kent uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Whitehead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kent fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Kent tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kent fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Whitehead fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Whitehead scores with a jab to the head.
Whitehead looks to land a left hand but Kent moved out of range nicely. Whitehead cracks Kent with a good jab. Kent walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Whitehead! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bryson Whitehead!
