Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yngwie Goransson (ranked 2257 p4p, 3743 weight class) and Cael Compton (ranked 267 p4p, 413 weight class). Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Yngwie Goransson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cael Compton!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goransson scores with a punch to the head.
Goransson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Goransson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Compton.
Compton lands with a right hand.
Goransson throws a right and a left that Compton avoids nicely.
Compton forces Goransson back against the cage and clinches.
Goransson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Compton uses from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Goransson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Compton controls the pace.
Compton tries to free his leg and advance position but Goransson is retaining full guard.
Goransson is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Compton rolls with it to try and escape but Goransson cranks on the arm and Compton is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
