Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kieran Chan (ranked 4848 p4p, 3830 weight class) and Boxy Mcboxer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Boxy Mcboxer!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Vladimir Khabensky and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Mcboxer with that takedown attempt.
A right-left combo lands from Chan.
It looks like Boxy Mcboxer has been cut.
Mcboxer is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Mcboxer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

You can see the frustration on Mcboxer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Chan is trying to get an arm triangle but Mcboxer is defending well.
Chan remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Chan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee is keeping an eye on Chan - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Chan drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mcboxer gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Boxy Mcboxer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kieran Chan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kieran Chan.
Well Chan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
