Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sonny Bray (ranked 3757 p4p, 3755 weight class) and Darwin Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sonny Bray! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darwin Drake! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drake shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bray sprawls well. Bray wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Drake gets slowly back to his feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Drake. Bray slaps away a takedown attempt from Drake, before circling back to the center of the mat. Sonny Bray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darwin Drake. Bray digs a good hook to Drake's body.
Bray pushes Drake up against the cage in a clinch. Bray stalling against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A right handed body shot lands from Bray.
Drake tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Bray has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Drake avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Bray pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Sonny Bray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Drake tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bray sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Drake somewhat. Bray seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
That's one minute gone in the round. A combination from Bray does no damage. Bray moves into range and clinches up with Drake. Drake letting Bray take a breather here. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Bray. Drake tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bray smiles and moves away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Drake is defended easily by Bray. Drake looks winded! Bray instigates a clinch. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Bray creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bray comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Drake is trying to push Bray away but Bray has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Bray lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Bray escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Bray lands a right hand that snaps the head of Drake backwards. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bray pushes Drake back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Bray ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Bray no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Bray is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Bray looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bray is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Drake is aware though and is defending well. Bray controlling the position. Bray is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Bray pulls Drake in close to his closed guard and prevents Drake from doing any damage or advancing position. Bray is trying to control the position but Drake postures up. Drake must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Bray looking for a triangle here. Drake is fighting it but it looks tight! Bray pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Drake is tapping out - this one is all over!
