Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scott Calvin (ranked 1952 p4p, 3105 weight class) and Mehdi Illir (ranked 192 p4p, 286 weight class). Mehdi Illir has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calvin throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Illir tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Calvin is in Illir's guard.

Illir is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Calvin is just riding it out for now. Illir eventually gives up the hold.

That was a close round but I would say that Scott Calvin will probably get the nod.

Calvin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
