Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Islam Makhachev (ranked 2769 p4p, 3135 weight class) and Monty Kingston (ranked 318 p4p, 361 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Islam Makhachev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Monty Kingston! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Makhachev shoots in and drives through. Kingston sprawls well. Kingston lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Makhachev misses with a series of wild punches.
Makhachev looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Kingston controlling the position well. Makhachev is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kingston defends it well. Kingston tries to get to full guard but Makhachev has control of the leg. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Makhachev is looking to take a break and control but Kingston is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Makhachev thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Makhachev is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kingston sees it coming and defends easily. Makhachev missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Kingston is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Makhachev is trying to work for a kimura but Kingston is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Makhachev scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Kingston is trying to get back to full guard. Kingston is controlling Makhachev's position as best he can from this difficult position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kingston can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Makhachev lands strikes from half guard. Kingston wants to get back to full guard but Makhachev has passed into side control. Kingston tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Makhachev wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. We've been hearing that Makhachev has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Makhachev wants to stand but Kingston is controlling his arm. Kingston tries to bench press Makhachev off him but Makhachev keeps the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Kingston dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Kingston drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Makhachev tries to buck Kingston off but Kingston is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Makhachev tries to strike from the bottom but misses. Makhachev manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Makhachev looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Makhachev is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Kingston looking for a sweep. Not yet Kingston, not yet. Makhachev looking to pass the guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Makhachev trying to control the position from guard on top but Kingston is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Islam Makhachev dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Kingston comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Kingston lands with an overhand left. Horrible takedown attempt by Makhachev or perhaps it was just good defense by Kingston, which made it look bad. Kingston slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Kingston looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Kingston is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Makhachev's half guard. Makhachev is trying to control but can't.
Kingston controlling the action here. Makhachev gets back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Makhachev tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kingston is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Kingston preventing the sweep. Kingston content to stall in guard here. We've been informed that Kingston has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Makhachev looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Kingston slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Makhachev wants to sweep but no luck. Kingston distracts Makhachev with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Kingston is working Makhachev over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Kingston keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Makhachev's head. Kingston trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Makhachev can't keep his opponent in guard - Kingston advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Kingston really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Makhachev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kingston looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Makhachev is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kingston is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Makhachev is hurt! He's hurt bad - Kingston fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Makhachev from any more punishment! Congratulations to Kingston! Great finish!

Post fight, Monty Kingston took to the microphone: 'I just might be the best MMA fighter one day.'. Islam Makhachev spoke after the fight, saying 'I wanna thank my opponent for fighting me and I can't wait to fight you again brother'.
