The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thurgood misses with the body kick
and Alvarez counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Erik Thurgood has been cut.
Alvarez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Alvarez lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Alvarez is pushing Thurgood up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Alvarez works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Thurgood pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the ropes.

Thurgood tries to pull guard but Alvarez forces him back to his feet, against the ropes.

Joao Alvarez decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
