Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mikuru Asakura (ranked 1849 p4p, 2437 weight class) and Joey Dibiassi (ranked 151 p4p, 194 weight class). Mikuru Asakura has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mikuru Asakura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joey Dibiassi!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Sergei Dronov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dibiassi tries to clinch but Asakura moves out of range.
A head kick misses from Asakura.
Dibiassi tries a quick counter leg kick but Asakura is wise to it.

Asakura takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

letting Dibiassi counter with a right hand.

Asakura has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Asakura there as he acknowledges the shot.

Dibiassi looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

The referee asks Asakura politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Asakura prefers to stall for the moment though.

Asakura is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dibiassi can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Asakura has Dibiassi pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dibiassi manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
