The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Everett moves into range and clinches up with Shimada. Shimada looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Everett has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Shimada regains guard immediately. Shimada is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag. Everett wants to get back to full guard.
