The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Crazy Horse shoots in and gets a takedown into Hughes's guard. Hughes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Crazy Horse is just riding it out for now. Hughes eventually gives up the hold. Crazy Horse moves into full guard.

Hughes wants to control from the top but Crazy Horse keeps moving. Crazy Horse wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Crazy Horse can't keep his opponent in guard - Hughes advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Hughes tries to pass the half guard into mount. Crazy Horse knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Crazy Horse is concentrating on defense, preventing Hughes from advancing position. Crazy Horse wants to improve his position but Hughes is controlling well.

That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Crazy Horse is holding on to half guard well. Crazy Horse is pressing down on Hughes's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Crazy Horse is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hughes looking to sit in guard and control but Crazy Horse gets the butterfly guard and sweeps.
