With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tater Salad!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses with a right hand
and Salad counters with a straight right hand.
Smith swings for the body but Salad moves out of range.
A swing and a miss from Smith.
Salad throws a head kick but Smith moves out of range.
Salad thows a left - swing and a miss!
A counter left hand to the body from Smith misses its target.
Smith throws a right hand that misses
and Salad connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Smith swings for the body but Salad moves out of range.
Nice uppercut there from Salad.
Smith takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Smith is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Salad connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Smith momentarily.
Smith misses with a wild body shot.
Smith lands a glancing blow to the side of Salad's head.
It looks like Tater Salad has been cut.
Smith lands a nice hook to Salad's body. Salad takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Salad looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Smith fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Salad looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Salad rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Smith moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Charles Smith is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Smith throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Smith darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Salad's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Smith before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
