PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight kickboxing rules bout between Doo Ho Choi (ranked 2878 p4p, 2891 weight class) and Kaladin Hinson (ranked 237 p4p, 241 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Doo Ho Choi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Kaladin Hinson!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Choi attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Hinson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Choi tests Hinson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Choi looks to score with a jab to the body but Hinson is just out of range.
Choi fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Hinson closes the distance and scores with a big combo that sends Choi crashing to the mat! Choi uses the ropes to get back to his feet and beat the count. The referee looks concerned but he's going to allow it to continue!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hinson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The fighters circling - Choi throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

and Hinson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Choi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hinson moves away.

Choi has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Choi there as he acknowledges the shot.
Hinson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Good leg kick by Choi.
Choi slips a straight right by Hinson.
Hinson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Choi stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Hinson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Choi moves forwards but Hinson connects with a nice, crisp jab.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Having scored a knockdown, Kaladin Hinson should take round 1, putting pressure on his opponene back strong in round 2.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Hinson connects with a beautiful left hand that drops Choi onto his butt! Choi bounces straight back up though - he's OK. After the ref checks him out, we're back to the action.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Choi ducks into a a hook from Hinson and goes down! He looks in a bit of a mess; will he beat the count?! 4,5,6,7,8 - he's up and looking to carry on! The referee looks into his eyes and sees that he's OK to continue!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hinson throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Chois head.
Hinson lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Choi backwards.

Kaladin Hinson seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Choi using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Hinson has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Hinson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hinson scores with a big combo that sends Choi crashing to the mat! He's still conscious but the referee has seen enough as Choi flops around uncontrollably and he's called an end to the fight! Hinson jumps onto the ropes and throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Gross.
