Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kyrie James (ranked 3311 p4p, 25250 weight class) and Joe Sharp (ranked 212 p4p, 265 weight class). James comes into the arena with ALESTORM - Shipwrecked blaring out of the sound system. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kyrie James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Sharp! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James dives in and scores a takedown into Sharp's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. James seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. James trying to control but Sharp is working from the bottom. Sharp can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as James controls the pace. James throwing strikes from guard but Sharp blocks nicely. Sharp looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. James stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sharp swivels though and keeps the full guard. James wants to control from the top but Sharp keeps moving. Sharp tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sharp is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. James forces his way into half guard. Sharp trying to hold on to James's head to control him but James postures up.
Sharp wants to get back to full guard. Sharp is controlling James's position as best he can from this difficult position. James tries to pass to full mount but Sharp defends it. Sharp tries to roll over but James keeps him under control. James controlling the action here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sharp wants to improve his position but James is controlling well.
Sharp is trying to control but can't.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Sharp scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. James regains half guard. James keeping control of the position. Sharp throws a strike but James avoids it easily and moves to full guard. James is looking to cinch up a triangle. Sharp throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to James's body to avoid the submission. James has instead reached around Sharp's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! James arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Kyrie James! Kyrie James was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
