Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Richard O Brien (ranked 2831 p4p, 2785 weight class) and Jack Ripley (ranked 183 p4p, 178 weight class). O Brien comes to the cage accompanied by Forcefield. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Richard O Brien!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Ripley!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ripley lands a head shot.
O Brien lands a jab to the head.
O Brien throws a head kick that misses.
O Brien throws a body shot but no joy.
Ripley keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from O Brien.
Ripley let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Ripley moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ripley, as that shot connected.
Ripley looks to land a left hand but O Brien moved out of range nicely.
O Brien ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
O Brien lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
O Brien connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
O Brien jabbing away but nothing is landing.
O Brien keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ripley.
Richard O Brien seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
O Brien takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
O Brien throws a hook but Ripley blocks it.

A telegraphed right hand from Ripley misses the target.
We've been told by O Brien's head coaches at 🕵️The Nonce Hunters🕵️ that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Ripley looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
O Brien misses with a hook.
Ripley avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ripley is clearly trying to counter these attacks from O Brien with a body shot.
O Brien throws a leg kick but Ripley checks it.
O Brien steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ripley.
O Brien is looking to counter punch.
Ripley looks to land a right hand but O Brien moved out of range.
Nice body punch from Ripley.
Ripley throws a hook but O Brien blocks it.
A left lands for Ripley.
O Brien throws a head kick but Ripley moves out of range.

O Brien throws a lazy uppercut
and Ripley cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
O Brien throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ripley stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
A slow jab from O Brien misses its intended target.
A nice leg kick lands there from O Brien.
Ripley lands with a nice body punch.
O Brien throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

O Brien misses with a left hand
letting Ripley counter with a right hand.
O Brien misses with a straight right.
Ripley works O Brien's body with a nice hook.
Both fighters circling a little - O Brien finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Ripley throws a right and a left that O Brien avoids nicely.
O Brien throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Decent striking displayed by O Brien there.
A swing and a miss from O Brien.
Ripley throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Ripley takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
O Brien moves into range and connects with a jab.
Ripley swings and misses with a hook to the body.
O Brien tests Ripley's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Ripley throws a combination that misses
and O Brien counters with a stiff right hand.
Ripley misses with a straight right.
O Brien motions for Ripley to come forward. O Brien throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
O Brien misses with a right hand
and Ripley counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
O Brien throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
O Brien takes a swing at Ripley's ribcage but misses.

O Brien blocks a jab.

A looping hook to the body misses from Ripley. O Brien does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ripley throws a body shot but no joy.
Ripley blocks a jab.
Ripley lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
O Brien misses with a hook
and Ripley counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
O Brien with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
O Brien with a body punch. A glancing blow.
O Brien takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
O Brien lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ripley sizes up O Brien with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Ripley uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from O Brien.

Ripley cracks O Brien with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! O Brien looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away� can Ripley finish him?

O Brien is rocked!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Ripley dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

O Brien sizes up Ripley with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Oh O Brien is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
O Brien cracks Ripley with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
O Brien seems to have got his legs back now.
Jack Ripley seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Ripley misses with a hook
and O Brien counters with an inside leg kick.
Ripley lands a big right hook! O Brien looks hurt but is still standing! Ripley lands a left jab and another right hook! This time O Brien falls down and Ripley dives in with a huge hammer fist! O Brien's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Ripley runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jack Ripley!
