Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Conor McGregor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGregor tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mahmoud defends well and McGregor ends up having to push Mahmoud into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
McGregor tries to pull guard but Mahmoud holds him up against the cage and eventually McGregor drops back down to his feet.
McGregor escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mahmoud closes the distance and clinches.
Mahmoud keeps control of McGregor as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Mahmoud changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McGregor looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McGregor is fighting off a takedown attempt but Mahmoud is just too persistent for him and manages to trip McGregor to the mat. McGregor regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
