Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Danny Fudge (ranked 3213 p4p, 3841 weight class) and Blase Beneteau (ranked 0 p4p, 415 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Fudge! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Blase Beneteau! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beneteau throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Beneteau keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Fudge shoots in and gets a takedown into Beneteau's guard. Beneteau will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Fudge looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Beneteau looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Fudge puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fudge with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fudge has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Fudge moves to the back position. Fudge trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Beneteau doesn't escape. Fudge has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fudge not allowing Beneteau to control his hands. Fudge has the hooks in. Beneteau is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Fudge is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Fudge tightening his grip on Beneteau, looking for the choke. Fudge somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Fudge wants to control but Beneteau is keeping busy. Beneteau is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Beneteau covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. What can Beneteau do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Fudge looking to break Beneteau's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Beneteau remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Fudge will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Fudge tries to keep control of the position but Beneteau is staying busy. Beneteau trying to control but not successfully. Fudge has good solid back control here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Fudge trying to control. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Fudge dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Beneteau throws a body shot but no joy. Beneteau displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fudge. Despite the aggression on Beneteau's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Fudge tries to score a power double leg takedown but Beneteau sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fudge somewhat. Beneteau chopping away at his opponent's legs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Beneteau lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Fudge shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Beneteau but Beneteau pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danny Fudge. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fudge closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Beneteau quickly recovers to half guard. Fudge trying to control the action but Beneteau is working from the bottom. Fudge tries to pass the half guard into mount. Beneteau knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Fudge working Beneteau over with strikes. Beneteau is looking to control Fudge's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Beneteau avoid being mounted? Beneteau is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Fudge is staying active. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Beneteau can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Beneteau is defending against the submission attempts here by Fudge.
Fudge is thwarting Beneteau's attempts to control the position. Fudge trying to pass the guard but Beneteau defending well. Fudge performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Beneteau is looking to get back to full guard here but Fudge has managed to pass to side control instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fudge content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Fudge tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Danny Fudge overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Beneteau is not content to let Fudge control the position. Beneteau wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Fudge takes a little break here. Beneteau wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Fudge works to advance to full mount. Beneteau defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Fudge looking to control and managing it successfully. Fudge can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Beneteau is looking to escape. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Fudge controlling his opponent. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Fudge dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! Fudge looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Beneteau throws a series of punches but Fudge avoids them all with ease. Fudge tries to clinch up. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fudge is defended easily by Beneteau. Danny Fudge is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Beneteau lands a nice looking body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fudge shoots and misses and Beneteau counters with a low kick, right behind Fudge 's knee. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danny Fudge. That's going to take a lot out of him. Beneteau fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Fudge shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Beneteau as he avoids it easily. Beneteau appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Beneteau fails to land with a series of punches.
Fudge misses with a takedown and Beneteau counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Beneteau tries to bum rush Fudge with a series of wild strikes but Fudge uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Fudge bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Beneteau is not content to let Fudge control the position. Fudge is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Beneteau is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Danny Fudge is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Beneteau tries to buck Fudge off but Fudge is having none of it. Fudge happy to just control the position for now. Fudge trying to control the action but Beneteau is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fudge is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Beneteau will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Fudge seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Beneteau for as long as he can get away with. Blase Beneteau has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Beneteau tries to buck Fudge off but Fudge is having none of it. A lull in the action here. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Beneteau tries to escape but Fudge is in control.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Fudge shoots in looking for a takedown. Beneteau tries to sprawl out of it but Fudge keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Beneteau manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Fudge fails miserably with a takedown attempt. As Fudge backs off Beneteau throws a huge counter combo but Fudge manages to avoid it all. Fudge looks for a takedown but Beneteau sprawls well. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Fudge gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Beneteau connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
And that's the end of the fight! Blase Beneteau comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Fudge has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
