Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Osvaldo Monteiro (ranked 3903 p4p, 3869 weight class) and Seok Hyun Ko (ranked 407 p4p, 406 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Osvaldo Monteiro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Seok Hyun Ko! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A lazy left from Monteiro finds it's target. Monteiro fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Ko needs to keep his hands up - Monteiro had a free shot at his head there. Monteiro takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Ko shoots in looking for a takedown. Monteiro tries to sprawl out of it but Ko keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Monteiro manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Monteiro appears to be looking for a big counter. Seok Hyun Ko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ko throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Monteiro's waist but Monteiro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ko off to one side. Ko avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ko is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Ko has taken the fight to the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Monteiro wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Monteiro throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ko works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Monteiro throwing strikes from guard but Ko blocks nicely. Monteiro throws an elbow that misses. Ko uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Monteiro's guard. Nice move by Ko! Ko wants to control from the top but Monteiro keeps moving. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ko stops Monteiro from standing up. Ko missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Ko throws a strike but Monteiro rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Monteiro got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ko has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Monteiro has managed to get both his arms back between Ko's legs - danger averted. Ko is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ko had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Monteiro defends it easily. Monteiro throwing strikes but missing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ko working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Monteiro. Ko avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Monteiro throws a big right hand that misses. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ko is on top in guard.
Ko decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Monteiro stuffs the takedown. Osvaldo Monteiro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Seok Hyun Ko. Ko misses with a takedown attempt and Monteiro counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Monteiro lands a nice shot to the body.

Ko shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Monteiro sprawls well. Monteiro wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ko gets slowly back to his feet. Monteiro jabs Ko right on the nose. Ko blinks but takes it well. Ko closes the distance and clinches. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Monteiro is trying to break the clinch but Ko has him pressed against the ropes. Monteiro tries to circle away but Ko has him pinned against the ropes. Ko tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Monteiro's elbow. Monteiro wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

That's five minutes gone in the round. Ko swings wildly with an uppercut but Monteiro uses good head movement to avoid it. Monteiro wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Ko has Monteiro pressed against the ropes, preventing Monteiro from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Ko is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Monteiro slips a jab from Ko. The fight stays on the outside here - Ko looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Monteiro connects with a jab. Monteiro bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Monteiro tries to keep at a distance but Ko has taken the fight into the clinch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ko struggles to land a body shot inside as Monteiro controls his hands.

Ko is still trying to improve position. Ko keeping moving, preventing Monteiro from controlling successfully. Ko has Monteiro pulled in close to control his posture. Monteiro in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Monteiro throws an elbow that misses. Ko uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Monteiro's guard. Nice move by Ko! Ko is working Monteiro over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Ko gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Ko clinches up against the ropes. Monteiro looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Monteiro wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ko keeps control of Monteiro as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Ko wants to stall.
Monteiro is looking to break free of the clinch but Ko has double underhooks. Ko's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Ko throws a punch but it's blocked by Monteiro. Monteiro blocks an uppercut.
Monteiro tries to break the clinch but Ko is controlling the position. Monteiro wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ko has him pressed against the ropes. Monteiro wants to break free but Ko has control.
Ko changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Monteiro fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Ko throws a front kick that sends Monteiro stumbling back into the ropes. Seok Hyun Ko is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Ko drives through and clinches with Monteiro against the ropes.
Monteiro is trying to break free. Monteiro is trying to break the clinch but Ko has him pressed against the ropes. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Monteiro can't break the clinch.

Osvaldo Monteiro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ko goes for a takedown in the clinch but Monteiro prevents it.
And that's the end of the fight! Seok Hyun Ko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Ko has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
