Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Habib Mogamedov (ranked 25462 p4p, 2695 weight class) and Bobby Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Habib Mogamedov has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Habib Mogamedov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bobby Joe!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe throws a body kick, spinning off balance

so Mogamedov counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Joe has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Mogamedov is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Joe pulls guard successfully.
Joe keeping moving, preventing Mogamedov from controlling successfully.
Mogamedov looking to pass the guard.
Mogamedov throwing strikes but missing.
Mogamedov stands and throws Joe's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Mogamedov controls the position from side control.

Mogamedov working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Joe can't do much from the bottom here.
Mogamedov is looking to take a break and control but Joe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Mogamedov is trying to get an arm triangle but Joe is defending well.
Mogamedov laying and praying for a moment but Joe takes advantage and regains half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Joe keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Joe is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mogamedov works his foot free and advances to mount.

Mogamedov looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Mogamedov is working for a guillotine from mount but Joe frees his head quite easily.

Mogamedov is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Joe has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Joe!
Mogamedov not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Mogamedov bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Joe's guard.

Joe wants to stand up but Mogamedov is controlling him.
Joe wants to sweep but no luck.
Mogamedov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Joe wants to stand and escape but Mogamedov is having none of it.
Mogamedov lands a couple of digs.
Joe throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mogamedov trying to control but Joe is working from the bottom.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Habib Mogamedov dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Mogamedov crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Joe - the referee stops the clock and Mogamedov gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Joe. Mogamedov manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Mogamedov shoots in but no luck this time.
A head kick by Joe misses

and Mogamedov counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Joe is trying to control but can't.

Habib Mogamedov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Joe throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mogamedov escapes and throws Joe's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Joe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mogamedov is working away from the top position though.

Joe won't allow Mogamedov to pass to mount.
Mogamedov is trying to control. Joe wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Joe misses with some strikes from the bottom.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Joe tries to sprawl but Mogamedov drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mogamedov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Joe keeps working.
Joe tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Joe tries to improve position but can't.
Mogamedov wants to control but Joe is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mogamedov cracks Joe with a big right hand but Joe just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

An elbow from Mogamedov crashes against the mat.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mogamedov is taking a breather. Joe says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Joe is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mogamedov pulls his head out easily.

Mogamedov wants to work for an arm triangle but Joe is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Mogamedov wants to control the pace but Joe is squirming around nicely.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Mogamedov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Joe wants to stand up but Mogamedov is controlling him.
Mogamedov slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Habib Mogamedov.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mogamedov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
