Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Knapp (ranked 3834 p4p, 3785 weight class) and Grayson Grimes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Knapp! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Grayson Grimes! The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Topper Green and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Knapp. Knapp wants to lay and pray for a moment but Grimes keeps working. Grimes tries to get back to half guard but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. You can see the frustration on Grimes's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Knapp tries to advance to mount but Grimes denies him. Knapp taking a breather here. Grimes takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Knapp scoring with punches from side control. Knapp controlling the position. Knapp thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grimes struggling a bit here. Grimes is not content to let Knapp control the position. Knapp wants to stand but Grimes has his arm trapped. Knapp looks up at the clock and then as Grimes takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Knapp smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Knapp is trying to get an arm triangle but Grimes is defending well. Grimes tries to improve position but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grimes is trying to work for a sweep but Knapp has mounted him! Grimes is looking to get to half guard. Knapp content just to control the position here. Grimes is just holding on here. Knapp manages to take his back.
Grimes tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Grimes is bucking up trying to escape but Knapp cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Knapp lands a big elbow. Knapp wants to get back to his feet but Grimes is holding on tight.
Grimes tries to lock up and control but Knapp gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Knapp will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Knapp prevents Grimes from getting the reversal. Knapp controlling the position easily from mount. Knapp seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Grimes for as long as he can get away with.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Knapp looking to secure an arm triangle but Grimes defends it well. Knapp can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Grimes is looking to escape. Knapp looking to control and managing it successfully. Knapp working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Knapp scores with a couple of good head shots there.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Knapp has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Knapp wants to control the pace but Grimes is squirming around nicely. Knapp with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Knapp content just to control the position here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Grimes is looking to improve his position but Knapp isn't that keen on the idea. Knapp is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Grimes to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Grimes shrugs it off. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Knapp scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Grimes is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Knapp has latched onto it... Big trouble! Knapp pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Grimes is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Knapp!
