Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bob Muise! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Keiki Misahawa! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Muise throws a shot to the body.
Misahawa swings widly with a right hand
and Muise counters with a left to the body. A swing and a miss from Misahawa. Muise has taken the fight to the clinch.
Misahawa lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Muise looking to slow down the pace here. Misahawa lands a damaging elbow.
It looks like Bob Muise has been cut. Muise goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Misahawa lands a damaging elbow. Muise is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Muise is trying to maintain a safe position but Misahawa gets an underhook and turns Muise into the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A nice glancing elbow lands by Misahawa. Muise tries to throw a body punch but Misahawa avoids it by throwing Muise back against the cage. Misahawa lands with a left to the head.
Bob Muise's cut is getting worse. Muise breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Muise looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Bob Muise seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Muise takes a swing at Misahawa's ribcage but misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Muise misses with a telegraphed body shot
letting Misahawa counter with a right hand. Muise throws a predictable looking body shot
and Muise takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Misahawa avoids the body shot from Muise.
Misahawa is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Muise misses with a body shot
and Misahawa counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bob Muise's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Misahawa jabbing away but nothing is landing. Muise shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Muise is looking to wear down Misahawa with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Misahawa throws a jab when Muise was well out of range. Muise misses with a body punch
and Misahawa counters with a nice body shot. Misahawa lands a nice shot to the body.
Muise swings away with a body shot that misses
and Misahawa moves into the clinch. Muise is looking to break free of the clinch but Misahawa has double underhooks. Muise blocks the elbow strike.
Muise tries to circle away but Misahawa has him pinned against the cage. Misahawa lands a nice elbow from the clinch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Misahawa creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Jeez, Bob Muise's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Misahawa lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Muise.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Muise misses with a knee to the head. Muise is breathing heavily. Muise tries a body shot but Misahawa blocks it.
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Muise tries to pull guard but Misahawa forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Muise misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Misahawa.
Muise takes an elbow to the temple.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Bob Muise's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Keiki Misahawa!
